Ingredients:

  • 1 liter of water
  • 400 grams of onion
  • 2 tablespoons of powdered turmeric or thumb-size turmeric root
  • 400 grams of sugar or healthier option honey/ maple syrup
  • A thumb-size ginger root

Preparation:

Place a pot full with water on heat and add the sugar. While you wait the mixture to boil, chop the ginger and onions and then put them in the mixture of water and sugar. When you notice that the mixture is well boiled, add the turmeric and lower the heat to medium.

Leave the mixture to boil and wait until it is half of the amount it was before. Then, strain the mixture that is cooked and put it into a glass container. Wait until it is cooled and has room temperature and store it in the refrigerator.
